Christian Montessori School of Ann Arbor is seeking a dedicated and caring Co-Lead Children’s House teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. Montessori Primary (3-6) AMS, AMI or MACTE qualification is desirable. Start date late summer and we will sponsor Montessori training for the right candidate. Each Children’s House classroom has two Lead Teachers and a part time classroom assistant. Salary is dependent on experience and qualifications. • Teach and supervise all students in class using the Montessori Method, curriculum in all areas of study, including leading Children and Worship lessons and prayer, alongside a co-lead
• Prepare weekly lesson plans and record students’ progress
• Maintain current ongoing records (communication logs, conference summary forms, observation notes) on all students in your care using Transparent Classroom
• Work collaboratively with all teachers on lesson planning, scheduling, and managing student transitions.
• Supervise, direct, and mentor teaching assistants
• Proven track record collaborating with colleagues
• Understand and promote the school’s mission and values at all times.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or a Child related field or equivalent experience working with children

Desired Qualifications

• American Montessori Society (AMS), Association Montessori International (AMI), or Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (MACTE) certified preferred.
• Experience leading in a Montessori classroom and 3+ years teaching experience
• Be comfortable talking with children about the Christian faith and principles, and leading them prayer
