Highly established Montessori school of 44 years seeks to hire AMI trained teacher at the Upper Elementary level. This person will shadow and assist a seasoned AMI teacher (27 years on our staff) beginning in fall of 2017 and assume the lead guide position in fall of 2018. Our dedicated teaching staff has been essential in determining the direction and core values of our school community. We adhere to Montessori principles and practices in educating a diverse group of 130 - 150 children in the Greater Lansing area, serving toddlers through 6th grade. A bachelor’s degree is necessary + a Michigan teaching certificate at the Elementary level. Candidates can be in process of obtaining their teaching credential when they begin this position.
Lansing is the capitol city of Michigan and is adjacent to East Lansing, home of Michigan State University. Michigan is a lovely state with many natural resources, including the great lakes, rivers, and many parks and forests. We are 1.5 hours from Detroit and 3.5 hours from Chicago.
This position is open to candidates finishing their AMI training in the summer of 2017 or 2018. Salary dependent on experience and training and includes some benefits.
