Become a Member School
To become a Member School of MMS, please follow the guidelines and procedures below to complete the school membership process. New applicants are visited prior to approval of Member School status. Currently, Member Schools are visitied every five years.

THE FOLLOWING FEES MUST BE PAID AT COMPLETION OF APPLICATION.
0 – 50 students - $100
51-100 students - $200
Over 100 students - $300
NOTE: If an application is denied by MMS, all paid fees, less an administration fee of $10, shall be refunded.
First-time applying with MMS – To avoid timing out, download and complete the Activities and Materials checklist and ensure you have all Lead Teachers' certifications before continuing.
Materials and Activities ChecklistExisting or previous member schools - Should ensure they have ready any updated or new Lead Teachers' certifications, if applicable, before continuing.
Member School Guidelines
WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS FOR MEMBER SCHOOLS?
Michigan Montessori Society Member Schools meet the following criteria:
- A full complement of Montessori materials
- Each class maintains an uninterrupted work period of 2 to 3 hours
- MACTE Approved Trained Teacher for each class
- Multi age classes, 3 years being the ideal
- Students assessed through observation and record keeping
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS SCHOOLS RECEIVE IF THEY BECOME A Member School?
- All registered staff will receive an MMS Individual Membership
- Reduced rate for two workshops in the same academic year for your MMS registered Individual Members
- A newsletter (sent via email)
- A listing on the MMS website
- Free advertising for member school events on the MMS website
- Reduced rate for submitting job posts on the MMS website
- A member school certificate (to be posted in the school)
- Take and Make activity offered once a year
